Breeding Stock

Nantdywyll Gwylan
Standing at stud for this year is Nantdywyll Gwylan.

This 3-year-old Palomino Welsh Sec A colt was successfully but lightly shown as a yearling. He was then left to mature and enjoy being a baby by playing with our other young colts. He has just come back in for preparation for 2002 in hand showing and stud duties. He has a sweet nature and kind whinny whenever visitors go down to see our ponies.

Sire Cwmnantgwyn Penadur, Dam Nantdywyll Gwennol by Gartconnel Salad.

Briolen Black Jack
Briolen Black Jack, who is bred in the purple, is currently up for lease back to Wales. A jet black 3 year old Sec A Colt. One of the nicest temperaments ever witnessed in a Sec A. Loves the children.

Sire Penwisg Pirate, Dam Criccieth Joy by Cwrtygaer.

Our foundation mares are mainly based on the Forlan lines, following the dilute theme, which has proved successful in all types of showing. Our established mare, Coed Tirio Honeysuckle, has already bred the next generation of our breeding stock, Rochedo The Huntress, our very pretty palomino filly, who reminds everone of My Little Pony. Both have extravagant eye catching movement which together with their attractive colour make both mares very popular with visitors.

Rochedo the Chance is our cremello mare who has been retained to produce the palomino/dun stock we prefer. She is currently in foal to a son of Forlan Honey Buzzard - Laraponta Oyster Catcher. Honey Buzzard is also the sire of Coed Tirio Honey Suckle. Therefore Chance's foal will be along the same breed lines and colour as our other two mares.

On a final note we would like to make mention to...

Rochedo The Promise
Promise was Pete's pony, especially after his sire Bullet (Trefaes Serog) was gelded and sold. Bullet was to Pete what Dinky and Sprinter are to Deanna and Leandra. Promise, therefore, was very special to Pete. He had a very successful yearling show career winning a number of his classes. Our great friends Kevin and Janice of Larapinta Stud were showing their own colt Larapinta Oyster Catcher at the same time. There was much friendly rivalry as to which colt would come out on top. Unfortunately, we lost Promise to a field injury but his memory goes on.

Sire Trefaes Serog, Dam Rheidol Pandora by Sring Invader.
